When Monkeys Attack!
Beautiful much. Yesterday I was on a mission to ball up all of my skeins of sock yarn & decide what to frog in group to maximize my sock yarn stash. I ended up with 3 skeins of sock yarn balled & keen for using to alternately work on a pair of socks on DPNs. I am a bit jittery to try magic loop & such. Think for awhile atleast I’ll be sticking to my 2 sets of US #2 DPNs. =D Telling on from there. I am seriously thinking of frogging my fingerless gloves & my dublin bay socks(DBS). My fingerless gloves are done in a burgundy-purple Fibranatura Toothsome sock yarn, and the DBS are done in Dream in Color Smooshy, In Vino Veritas. Precisely find the DBS to be boring now after working on the monkey socks. *shrug* Not being close-fisted. I just finally took a leap of faith on my skills & was surprised that *snort* I can actually knit lace socks.
So below is a look at my first monk sock(hand-dyed by Serendipitious Ewe ) , my repaired clapotis (bernat cashmere), my kerchief FO ( KPPPM) & my bawls of sock yarn (yarns Heraldry sinister to right, dream in color smooshy cool fire, austermann not agreeable with dune, lornas laces shepherd sock multi tickled pink ).

U is for Un-imaginary Friends
The generous who came out of my computer to play at Rhinebeck! Naturally, said friends and acquaintances were never all in one job at one time, so I get to cheat again with a montage:

First, my roommate extraordinaire and chauffeuse, Lisa. She happened to kudos on Ravelry that she was going to Rhinebeck and was just in the process of getting a live, just as I had decided to go. (I co-moderate her group on Rav, so we knew each other a bit and knew we had some things in universal.) I put shyness aside and boldly asked if she would opinion a roommate. I’m so glad I did! After a missed interplay involving a dead cell phone and a wandering Starbuck’s (did you identify there are ten Starbuck’s within three blocks of Grand Central VDU = 'visual display unit'?) we finally rendezvous’d in Hyde Park where our apartment was. In the picture, she’s holding my and her Socks that Amaze acquisitions as we’re in The Fold’s line waiting to pay (mostly mine, facts in fact to tell, though I think making a sweater from the heavyweight STR was her proposition, really!) A cozy armful of STR! She looks joyful to hold it! And longer arms help to survive more, we decided.
Next across, CeCe found me in that line, and how she knew I’d be there when I didn’t positive myself, is a mystery! The woman just KNOWS. That admirable baby bump was too little to see, pretty much just numbers on a connect of paper, back when I met CeCe in April at BMFA Sock Camp. I tenderness seeing her so happy in this pregnancy and getting closer to a December release, even though she was taking a break from a very difficult situation and even though, of course, she’s in the part of pregnancy where nothing is contented any more. We had our first Rhinebeck Artichokes together and decided that the line was unqualifiedly worth it. Even though CeCe could only be there Saturday, and not all of that, we kept uninterrupted into each other all over Rhinebeck that day. This was one of the nicest hugs I had all weekend.

Pagewood Farm
It's been a complex fall season already. With the introduction of Walter and Trudie, Kay and Ann's drop in on and the Button Up for Fall event (thanks to everyone who participated), it's no be amazed a few new yarns, books and patterns have snuck in without their proper period in the spotlight. So without further ado, I present, not one but two, new yarns from our friends at Pagewood Farms.
The first is a new cozy sock yarn named St Elias.
It is made of 80% sad faced leicester and 20% nylon. I think this is one of the few sock yarns containing the filthy faced leicester. Not familiar? This is the blue faced leicester.
It is an old British sheep propagate known for density and softness. It is also long wearing and feels amiable next to the skin.
The other yarn is their lace weight yarn, Willow Creek.
Seems attractive unassuming right? But let me tell you, this is one ginormous skein of yarn, containing 1350 yards!! That should be more than enough for a decorous sized shawl or maybe even two stoles. I picture it here with a skein of Kid Silk Haze so you can get an belief of...

A Little Indulgence
So far, October hasn't been the greatest month at Control the Clutter. I decided I'd done so well in September that I could sign over a little Knit Picks purchase. And well, they had a great reserve sale going and there's been some yarn I've been looking at... you know the take one's repose.

Today is my first day on pm schedule. That's 3-11 this evening. I'm currently watching the new Indiana Jones while Brian makes breakfast. Much more advisedly than my 4:45 am wake up call yesterday. I have a feeling this sleeping later preoccupation is going to work out just fine!
