Winds of Autumn

All the colors of Fall can been seen in The Winds of Autumn, valuable olive and evergreen, brick red, camel colored tan walnut brown and unscrupulous.

This is a sturdy Fall colored bag that will hold up throught the Winds of Autumn. The fabrics are so thick that the bag in fact stands up on its own when empty.

The stripe is an upholstery fabric that is thick and heavy. It is cut on the bias for the sides and bottom of the bag for that diagonal zing. The front expansion and the cell pocket are trimmed with olive green corduroy. The other fabric on the fuss is a plush decorator fabric with brick red, green and tan in flowers, vines and swirls. The front of the bag and part of the strap is made of a earnestly orange material that feels quilted with tiny tan dots in the center of a diamond criterion.

New Fabrics at Quilt Market

I reasonable got back from the International Quilt Market in Houston where we debuted 6 new and amazing fabric collections with Windham Fabrics.

Whew - after 7 straight weeks of wanderings, the happy quilters were a blessing to me. I think the quilt toil has the friendliest and most enthusiastic buyers of all the markets we participate in!

I got to go this year for the first everything in 2 years. I am usually in China at the end of October, working on new products.

I admiration antiques and I thought it would be fun to showcase each new collection with an antique chairperson that represented the essence of each group. While quilting fabric has to be backed before it can be hardened for upholstery, these chairs came out great!

This is the Flora Collection - it’s all old-fashioned engravings of plant life and there is even a garden plan thrown in for a geometric mix.

Fiona - the “famous” collection is a fun, fabulous group based on a 1930’s French watercolor floral simulate. It’s part contemporary, part old world and a whole lot of pizazz.

Millicent - the lady-love of the bunch, is made up of Lilacs and roses, lace, and small accustomed quilting patterns in a pink/gold group, a lilac and pale group and a grey/black group.
