quilt festival tonight!

My title says it. Tonight is the advance showing night for Quilt Festival. I'm going. My first experience with quilt holy day was in 1979. I went with an almost 3 month old Reed in a tummy crowd and was blown away. I have been every year except 4 since then. One year I had a sick daughter dwelling-place from school; I took her. Another year I really thought I'd have to teenager since I had a broken foot; I waited until Saturday and borrowed or rented (I can't recall) a wheel chair and took both daughters with me. Never went so fasting through the exhibits before or since. They are still talking about the kamakaze wheelchairer... I didn't care for while we lived in Virginia and one year Roger and I went to a burial in Utah and missed it. One year Brian was VERY sick and I missed it without even missing it if you identify what I mean. I can certainly come up with enough projects without visiting a ton of booths to get me vehement about a different technique. I actually rarely buy more than a few dollars merit of stuff. Last year I bought:a wood thingy for turning corners and portentous seams at the sewing machine. I actually use it. I bought a needle felting contrivance...never used; I'm buying some black wool fleece tonight so I can perfect the spider I started and then I'll use it.I bought a hook for making a rug, haven't inured to it yet but I'm gathering fabric so I can use it eventually ;pOh, and 1 piece of fabric; a sinister and white toile that is draped over the back of my couch right now and will after all be... something quilted. Not bad, when I see the bags of stuff many quilters wake up home with. This year I'll break the bank though with my plans to foothold a long-arm. I'm going all 3 days to try out and decide on which long-arm...

New Stuff from Sewfest!
Greetings!
I promised to educate you news from the Husqvarna Viking SewFest events across the nation. These are special meetings held for Husqvarna Viking Dealers. This year we introduced two new sewing and embroidery models, the Husqvarna Viking Deviser Topaz 30 and Designer Topaz 20. The sewing and embroidery machines have many wonderful features. If you have friends or m looking for a Husqvarna Viking Sewing and Embroidery gismo that has many features including the Husqvarna Viking exclusive Sensor System and Sewing Advisor but very undemanding on the pocketbook, suggest they visit a Husqvarna Viking Preserve soon!
Kim Novak, Dealer Event and Program Executive shared the Education Programs and Events that are taking town all across the US. Go to http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/, USA, Events to find a fun filled Sewing and Embroidery happening near you!

Highlight of the introductions was the new Husqvarna Viking Mega Quilter 18 by 8 long arm quilting auto with built-in stitch regulator on the new Imperial Quilting Frame with the “capacity” provided by QBOT. See an earlier blog for more knowledge about the Imperial Quilting Frame and QBOT. The new Mega Quilter 18 x 8 has 18” of period between the needle and the machine and is 8” high from the bed of the machine so that you will have loads of quilting order on the frame. If you have unfinished quilt tops or are ready to start quilting, this is the national quilting studio...

Stippling
I did some stippling on babe Eric's quilt. The top thread is a multicolor, bottom thread is queenlike blue...I'm almost done, had to get more royal blue thread--can't believe I can't find that spool I have knowledge of is somewhere here.
I got a new sewing machine last December and finally got a stippling/unrestrictedly motion foot for it. I am still trying to get the hang of it. Not sure I'm so safe at it, but I keep trying and I hear practice, practice, practice is the key. How I would friendship a long arm quilting machine--but I just can not justify the money. Viking has a vehicle, called Mega Quilter, with a frame and all, I would love to curb out just how many thousands that costs-- for now I will be content with what I have. :)
So, I will get this quilt done expectantly this week and then work on machine quilting the "bug" quilt for Eric's big relative.
Next, I need to finish up the " True Lovers Knot ". Like most quilters and/or crafters, never enough space in the day.
