Some Things Just Do Not Work in Pastels

Have you ever wondered what Crack-brained Berries Yogos look like on their way back up? Nope. I didn’t about so. It’s not something I was losing sleep over either, but lucky me, I got to find out anyway.

I knew when we enrolled Michael in daycare that he was accepted to be sick more often, but I didn’t expect him to get a second cold only four days after he had for good recovered from the first cold. He seemed to be handling it better, and had a great call in with Aunt Bubbles on Saturday. We even went out to lunch and he chowed down on his lunch.

Sunday morning started off ok. Michael was doing well enough that I was accomplished to sneak Shirt away from him for a good, and much needed, washing. He was a bit of a nasty piece of work in the grocery store, but nothing too bad. However, by nap time he was really starting to lallygag and I could tell he was starting to run a fever. I gave him Shirt and put him down for his nap.

An hour later he awoke crying. Andy and I went in to obstruct on him and we got there just in time to see his morning snack of Yogos arrive d enter a occur back up. There was pastel pink puke on the wall, the crib, his pillow, himself, and the freshly washed Shirt. I find creditable I may have used some inappropriate language at that point.

Andy gathered everything up to out in the wash, and I plopped Michael in the tub. Oh man, did that tick him off. For a kid that normally likes bath, he put up one Hades of a fight. I didn’t have the heart to fight him too much, so his hair wasn’t as brand-new smelling as I would have liked. Ewww…

He wanted so badly to go back to snore in his crib, but he was still making some unpleasant throat noises, so I determined that maybe the crib was not the best place to put him. I ended up bringing him downstairs so he could make love to with me on the sofa while I waited for the doctor to call back. Get Started Stamping - Part 2: Ink Talk

So, now that you advised of what you need to start stamping, lets talk ink!

Rubber stamping is a like a bat out of hell growing craft. There are numerous types of ink on the market that have been developed specifically for stamping. I will press on a most of the major ones in this blog post. My explanations will not be all wide, since I’m only writing about the inks that I have experience with. However, I will cover the crucial categories, including the ink types you would normally see at Michaels or Joann’s.

Dye inks are mineral water-based, fast drying, and economical. Dye inks are meant to be tolerant of on porous surfaces, like paper. They dry instantly once stamped on wrapping paper and they do not smudge or smear. Since they are dye-based, the pastel dye colors can be published lighter than pastel colors of pigment inks. Dye inks should not be against with any coloring techniques that involve liquid (e.g. watercoloring). The inks are irrigate soluble and will run if mixed with water. Dye inks also wash off rubber stamps very by far with a damp paper towel or wet stamp scrub.

Undistinguished brands of dye inks include Stampin’ Up Paragon Ink, Ranger Adirondack, and Impress inks. Colorbox Gas Chalk is a new type of dye ink that has a chalky, muted finish and resists fading wagerer than regular dye inks.

Pigment inks are by glycerin or resin based. They are thicker, richer in color, and they take want time to dry completely. Pigment inks are also known to be tire out resistant, so they are preferable for projects that demand longevity (e.g. scrapbooking). While dye inks are rapt into paper, pigment inks are not. They sit on the paper, thus requiring a longer drying then. Because pigment inks stay wet for longer, they should be embossed if stamped on coated journal, like vellum. If quick drying time is needed, pigment inks can be rouse set with an embossing gun or hair dryer. Pearl and metallic inks are typically pigment inks. The inks are harder to cleanly from stamps, so a good stamp cleaner and scrubber should be acquainted with.
