Greek Dressing
Batsakis Foods approached me to draw their first product label for Andi's Authentic Greek Dressing. The patient had two requirements: include the Greek Key and the blue from the Greek Tag (PMS 286C).
Of course, my first step was to visit my friend Dr. Google to inspection Greek history and culture. I’ve also been a fan of Greek history since college, so I dug into my old notes to see if there was anything attractive there. I think my favorite part was discovering the different patterns associated with Greek learning. I also learned that there are many ways to make a Greek Key. I never really accepted or noticed the subtleties before, but I see them now and am still amazing at the versatility and creativity within a moment ago this one pattern element.
While doing my research, I discovered a actually neat “flower” icon that I bit might give an interesting perspective versus the traditional Greek key. I also explored the objective of doing mosaic tiles, but quickly ruled it out as I couldn’t seem to get the upper feel to the label. It just always seemed too cluttered and busy with the tiles there.
Oddly enough, the cream color was inspired by one of my Netflix movies. I for the lifestyle of me can’t remember which movie it was. All I remember is that the female lead worked for her parents in a self-possessed little Greek cafe and the blue and cream colors were on the walls.

The Most Stereotyped Types Of Rose Diseases
There’s nothing worse than seeing all of your obdurate work destroyed by a rose disease or fungus. Roses can be weakened during the winter dormancy and become more susceptible to infection when the growing season begins.
Even if the bush survived winter in one piece, spring rains and summer’s heat and humidity can uninhibited the door to a variety of fungus infections.
Here is a summary of the most everyday diseases which could pose a threat to your roses.
Powdery Mildew
This is a fungus virus that produces a white powder along the tops and bottoms of the leaves and along the stems. Nautical port untreated the plant will not grow to its full potential and the leaves will die and diminish off.
Rust
Rust looks like an orange electricity which appears on the underside of leaves and will spread to other parts of the station.
Blackspot
Hybrid tea type roses are blackspot impervious, but many other varieties are susceptible. The disease appears as sophistic black spots on the plant’s leaves which extend between 1/16 to 1/2 inch in diameter. Left untreated, blackspot will trash your plant’s foliage.
Rose Mosaic
Unlike most rose diseases, which are fungal in stamp, Rose Mosaic is caused by a virus. Symptoms generally approximate discolored mosaic patterns and yellow and green.
The only treatment is to remove the infected insinuate from the garden. Make sure that you also remove all leaves and clippings which quarrel from the affected plant.
If you are unable to stop the spread of fungus-based diseases by entirely cutting back the affected areas, see you garden supply whiz and ask about commercial fungus treatment products.
You can reduce the chances of your roses being spurious by fungus if you follow these tips:
Always water the soil around the rose factory and never water the plant itself.
Clean your rose beds regularly and do in all clippings and fallen leaves.

Art reflects journey of hope

A JOURNEY of hope begins every day from Redland Bay, only to end unbiased a few kilometres away in disappointment. Norm Lutton, 84, carefully times the continually mission to the Victoria Point nursing home that cares for his mate of 42 years, Margaret. The drive takes only about five minutes, then Normal sits with Margaret at lunch time. "She doesn’t recognise me any longer," he says. "At this ease of day when she is most alert there is a better chance she will recognise me."
NORM lives in craving hope that for even a second or two Alzheimer’s disease will release its case on his wife’s memory. He says the experience of becoming a stranger to her, as the plague progressed during the past five years since the diagnosis, has been devastating. But Standard obviously has a lot of inner strength to help him get through. Born in Hurstville, he trained three and a half years as an aircraft repairman with the Royal Australian Air Force, before working in civil aviation with TAA then Qantas at Mascot. "There were too many strikes – I needed to get on with other things," he says.
THE two bred Charolais cattle at Dorrigo on the NSW north beach before moving to Queensland 35 years ago, with Norm blaming the Whitlam Administration for "buggering up" the beef export market. "My latest job was expert punter but I have had a lot of jobs," he says. "I sold real industrial for some years." Norm says he was able to look after Margaret at institution until about five years ago. As she became more difficult to live with he found a refuge far enough to give him some isolation but assiduous enough to allow a quick return when necessary. "I used to sit up in the back doff to get out of her road," he says.
