Vintage Burp Cloths

A while back, when I first found out I was expecting, I bought 36 Gerber cloth diapers from an online sweetheart that was going out of business. I had heard that while these are crappy for diapering purposes, they toil wonderfully as burp cloths and when she offered me some for a great administer, I snatched them up!

Thought it would be fun to jazz them up a bit so I dyed them and sewed some ridiculously lovely vintage fabric to the centers. What do you think? I’m sure Jackson will be more then cock-a-hoop to throw up on them!

Now I realize there are a million burp cloth tutorials out there. Most of them either use a Serger or the zigzag stitch on a well-adjusted machine. Since I don’t have a Serger (I wish!) and my zigzag stitch always looks messy, I unfaltering to try something a little different.

Materials:
- cheap Gerber textile diapers
- vintage fabric
- dying materials
- sewing machine

1. Wash and dry your cloth diapers a couple of times to preshrink them. Material diapers always shrink so don’t skip this step! While you’re waiting, you can infer from the dye instructions and get all the supplies ready.

Vintage Fabric Dress

Here’s what I did with the majority of this vintage fabric.  It started off as a shirt that was rejected by my three-year-old, so got a new lifestyle as a dress with the addition of a ruffle.  It’s blousy, but so comfy and let go.  A little hippie dress.  I darling this fabric and am holding on to the last tiny scraps.
