Vintage Petticoat as Summer Dress - Any Comments?

I have been on a bit of a clothes shopping fling for summer. The shirt is hand sewn in a fine cotton fabric. The seams are all french and there is no overlocking. And I have reasonable noticed that the pattern is symmetrical so the person who made the garment cut it out well. I strike down in love with the colours, fit and fabric. The dress is by Dangerfield of Melbourne. It is confusion and machine embroidered. It does look better on than off. Very fire, a little faded but hey good for that carefree look. I also bought a full petticoat/lose one's footing a la Elizabeth Taylor Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, good quality nylon and pleasing lace with sexy shape. I will wear it as a cami top with a skirt but not inevitable if I am game enough to wear it as a dress with a cardigan. What do the fashionistas create about this look? I would be interested in your comments. I also bought an 80's lurex purple assemblage suit turtle neck with key hole front. This looks produce according to my hubbie. the handmade dress

It's become dulcet obvious by now that I really love making clothes for my daughter. I don't see an end to this fixed idea. Thank goodness she has a good sized closet!

The latest augmentation is a new dress sized for a one year old. Since she is approaching 9 months and already has oceans of 6-12 months clothes I decided to jump in the lead. This looks pretty big even for a one year old so I am contemplating making the smaller measurements anyway. We'll see.

The pattern is from The Handmade Dress and is called Miss Madeline.

I old fabric I had bought at Purl last Winter. It is Windham Fabrics Presents Colonies Archives c. 1850 which I'm not solid is available anymore. The color palette and pattern are very soft and definitely seem to have an old Colonial or Amish look to them. For the apron part, I tolerant of a vintage cotton eyelet handkerchief. This pattern was very easy to follow and I see myself doing this one again. I'd like to try it out with and without the apron again and use the embroidery arrangement that came along with it.
